“Appleton City Hall is a historic municipal building in Appleton, Minnesota, United States. It was built in 1895 as one of the few monumental 19th-century buildings in rural western Minnesota.”

May 2022	Thunderstorm Wind	Appleton	-	A survey team viewed the damage in Appleton but was unable to determine whether it was due to a downburst or tornado. Several dozen trees were broken.
May 2022	Tornado (EF1)	Appleton	-	A tornado developed about 3 miles north-northwest of Milan in Chippewa County and then moved into Swift County where it uprooted a number of trees and significantly damaged farm outbuildings. Maximum winds for the Swift County portion were estimated at 90 mph.

Cars flooded up to their hoods at the underpass near the intersection of Highways 59 and 119. Two feet of water on Main Street, with water flowing into a building. Also reported by trained spotter and law enforcement official.
June 2005	Funnel Cloud	Appleton	-	Law enforcement reported numerous funnel clouds in and around Appleton. One particular sighting was along Highway 119 about 4.5 miles north of town.
June 2005	Thunderstorm Wind	Appleton	-	A cattle shed lost most of its roof at a farm along Highway 12 about 1 mile west of the Highway 5 intersection in Shible Township, Section 15. A machine shed was nearly demolished nearby.
June 2005	Thunderstorm Wind	Appleton	-	The roof of three sheds and a hog barn were blown off at a farm on the south side of Lake Oliver near 20th Street NW in Hegbert Township, Section 35. A two by four was blown into the side of a farmhouse and windows were broken by flying debris. Trees were also downed on the property.
