June 2023	Tornado (EFU)	Shelly	-	Norman county Emergency Manager confirmed tornado touchdown east of Shelly, heading N-NW. This tornado lifted across the county line into Polk county. It occurred in open fields, which mitigated any damage. Therefore, the rating of EF-U has been assigned with an estimated path width and length.
July 2015	Thunderstorm Wind	Shelly	-	Roofs were damaged and trees were blown down.
June 2013	Thunderstorm Wind	Shelly	-	A few trees were toppled in shelterbelts along U. S. Highway 75.
August 2012	Thunderstorm Wind	Shelly	-	Several sections of corn, soybeans, and other crops were flattened by damaging winds across Shelly Township. Most shelterbelts had numerous tree branches broken off but an occasional tree was snapped near the ground.
July 2011	Tornado (EF0)	Shelly	-	This tornado tracked for about 1.5 miles to around four miles east-northeast of Shelly. A couple of mature trees were snapped off and numerous smaller branches were spread around in a farmyard. Peak winds were estimated at 80 mph.
July 2011	Hail	Shelly	-	Several quarter to half dollar sized hail fell.
July 2004	Thunderstorm Wind	Shelly	-	Several trees were blown down along the Red River.
July 2003	Thunderstorm Wind	Shelly	-	4 inch diameter branches were blown down.
