Panama, a coal mining town located on section 29, range 37, township 31, was a prosperous community owfing to the extra thickness of the local veins of coal. But after these had been thoroughly worked and some bad fires had swept over the town it had a setback, though at the present time it is quite a shippingpoint and new discoveries of oil and other natural products have been made ; there is considerable interest being taken in this part of the county.
