A slow moving elevated severe thunderstorm produced hail from the size of quarters up to tennis balls, 3 inches, in size as it moved across the city of Iberia. Significant damage to roofs, vehicles, and other structures occurred. This swath of hail was nearly 3 miles in length with hail falling for as much as 25 minutes across portions of the city.
A NWS survey team determined that an EF-0 landspout producing around 60 mph winds briefly touched down 2 miles south of Iberia near Pear Orchard Road. A large tree was broken off near its base in an area where multiple eye witnesses witnessed the touchdown. The KSGF 88D radar did note a CC drop in that same area.
Several bridges and low water crossings along the Tavern Creek and Little Tavern Creek in far southeast Miller County were impassable from flash flooding.
