A swath of quarter to golf ball size hail fell south to north across the city of Hazen. Some property damage was reported, but there were no specifics.
Home struck by lightning. Blew out the TV, VCR, and telephone. Plaster in the bathroom was knocked off the walls. An electircal outlet on the outside of the home had the cover on it blown off and thrown 15 feet. The plug outlet was no longer usable.
Public reports from a distance indicated that this was a tornado, however, a Mercer County Sheriff's Deputy very near reported that this funnel cloud was short lived and did not touch the ground.
