Hebron, the town this property stands in, in 68 storm reports between 1994 and 2025: 38 hail, 25 thunderstorm wind, 2 tornado, 1 flash flood.
No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office
filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date
opens the federal record of that event.
Flooding from snow melt runoff caused significant damages to county infrastructure, which includes damage caused by an ice jam in Mandan along the Heart River.
Over one foot of water was over both the west and east bound lanes of Interstate 94 near mile marker 106. A three car accident was attributed to the flash flooding from the heavy rain. No injuries were reported. There was also flash flooding of other low water crossing area along the interstate in western Morton County. A report of 2.33 inches of rain in less than two hours was received from the Glen Ullin area.
Newspaper and trained spotters reported golf ball to baseball sized hail from 1 mile south of Hebron to 3 miles south of Glen Ullin from the same storm as it tracked east. Damage sustained to vehicles, other property, and crops.
The tornado clipped the southeast edge of Hebron as it moved east-northeast. It was on the leading edge of a squall line or multicell line of severe thunderstorms. Witnesses described it as a large whirlwind and large dust devil. Tree limbs in the rotation were being lifted into the cloud base, which was also rotating. This led to the determination of a tornado rather than a gustnado. Damage was limited to objects being thrown around, one old outbuilding being damaged, and one old one stall garage being destroyed. A 2005 pickup truck was damaged by debris from the garage.
A tornado developed south of Hebron, and clipped the far eastern edge of Hebron, before it pushed through rural areas to the north-northeast. Along its path, it caused minor damage to trees in a shelter-belt. The minor tree damage corresponded to EF0. From that winds were estimated around 70 mph.
