The architectural design is of the Stick Style type, with the main attributes pointing to Eastern center of town.

It stands, in its original location, on East Dayton Street, also known as U.S. Route 35. As part of this project, the exterior of the depot was freshly painted, otherwise the project did not involve any changes to the building's structure or materials. The interior of the building has undergone some minor modifications over the years, but many some of the windows, wooden steps and interior wall boards. The walls in the waiting area and ticket office consist mostly of shiplap wood siding. There are also wood cabinets and wood flooring and beams. The historic interior plan of the depot remains intact. Natural aging of materials has occurred and the condition of the interior is fair, at best Currently the depot is being used as office space.
