To the west lies a large parking area that was a vacant lot when the building was constructed.

The north elevation borders another alley. The building sits across from the original Lorair two storefront entries. The original central double doors maintain their historic transom with "American Felsol Company" The second and third floors have been altered over the building's history and none of the original I.O.O.F. lodge spaces and details remains. The second and third floors have been reconfigured to accommodate apartments. The plans for after 1973 so that gymnasium space could be created on the second floor for the YWCA, who currently owns and The building retains integrity of location, setting, materials, and association linked with the time period, 1937-1957 when Telephone Company building to the south. Feicks and the creation of the Felsol product, a derivative of mistletoe providing relief of asthma and hay fever and a pain reliever and development, production, and distribution facility in Lorain. It is one of the earliest examples of an adaptive reuse of a building in Lorain.

Originally constructed as an Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F) hall, it served that purpose for a limited time and was then purchased and renovated to house a new company known as The American Felsol Company. William C. Feicks and his development of the American Felsol Company tells the locally significant story of one significance begins at 1937, when Feicks bought the building to house his pharmaceutical company and ends in 1961, the generally accepted fifty year cut-off date. History of Lorain industry and continued as one of modern Lorain's major industries. With the coming of the railroad in 1872, Lorain began leading industries.
