Large sandstone columns stand before a recessed portico which forms the main entryway. A tall parapet extendabove the entablature hiding the roof and is a distinctive feature of this building. The interior with its tall ceilings is also impressive. 43. History and Significance This building, because of its size and scale, is a prominent Elyria landmark. It is identical to the post office in Alliance, Ohio. It also is a stabilizing influence on the East Broad Street area, which has been 44.
