Distance from and Frontage on Road Further Description of Important Features An elaborate front entranceway is the major feature of the exterior. The entrance is surrounded by a large entablature and pilasters with elaborate fretwork. Side lights frame the doorway. Elsewhere, clapboard siding previals, there being no cornice or corner pilasters. The windows have been replaced and alterations have occurred on the interior. Lot 23. One acre nominated. History and Significance A. B. Sears lived here in 1859 and operated a tannery on this property. Clustered around this house were a cooper shop, blacksmith shop and steam carding mill. It is one of Chesterville's finest Greek Revival houses. Description of Environment and Outbuildings This house is located in a residential area and has shade trees and shrubbery surrounding it. At the rear is a garage. To the east is a small stream.
