Distance from and Frontage on Road 85' - 35' frontage 2. Further Description of Important Features This rectory has a deep box cornice. Windows have wide stone lintels and lug sills. A one-story veranda porch is over a recessed doorway with cut glass sidelights. The porch is supported on four large brick piers and has a stone capped solid brick railing. A one-story wing extends to the rear. The basement has an outside cellar type entrance. 3. History and Significance During the first years of settlement in McCartyville and its neighbor St. Patrick, the settlers decided that St. Patrick would build the church and McCartyville would build the post office. McCartyville did not get their own post office until 20 yrs. later, 1882. This parish was served by the Society of the Precious Blood until 1906, since then diocesan priests have attended their needs. 4.

Description of Environment and Outbuildings The Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church is to the east of the rectory.
