Further Description of Important Features A typical rectory has central peaked gable with elliptical window. Ornate hood moulds over the windows are under a deep cornice and frieze with brackets. Belcast shape on roof of central gable also has deep cornice. This is a large building with another portion added to the east side of the T-section. 43. History and Significance Parish was established in 1865. Since the priest could not stay at a nearby convent, a rectory was built earlier for him. The Archbishop ruled in the early 1900's that all priests should be housed at the parish. This rectay was built for $3000. The brick church built in 1867 was replaced by another in 1962. 44.
