Further Description of Important Features Although church was built in 1848, length was increased and twin towers-190 feet high-were built on west in 1874. Sanctuary was added on east and main entrance moved to west in 1901. Steep front steps were installed in 1922. Interior was modernized in 1927. It is still an outstanding magnificent building, towers have 4 clocks on each spire and can be seen for miles. 43. History and Significance Jesuit priest cam to Stallotown (Minster) in 1832. First church was built in 1835, became motherchurch for area up to Glandorf and was served first by Father Horstman, and later by Precious Blood order. St. Theresa school, convent, and parish school were added. Early settlers came to Minster for Mass before their churches were built. 44.
Description of Environment and Outbuildings Elementary school built in 1906 and still being used is on same block, faces east on Lincoln. Rectory is on south side of church.
