Further Description of Important Features A Greek Revival entablature wraps around the building at the eaves, forming a pediment in front. The original clapboard siding lies underneath a coating of asphalt paper that simulates stone. The front entranceway is quite elaborate. Additions to the rear have been made, transforming the layout of the house so that the rear is now the front of the house. History and Significance William Burch, a prominent Fredericktown physician, lived in this house for many years. It is not known who the original owner was. This is one of Fredericktown's oldest buildings. Description of Environment and Outbuildings The house is located on the edge of a hill such that its front yard slopes down sharply toward Mount Vernon Avenue. Shade trees and shrubbery are on the lot. Sources of Information Leah Mullim, granddaughter of William Burch 46.

Nomination (?) virtually everything in the town is over 50 yrs old and there seem to be few intrusions. -- Between the text & survey sheets enough info seems to be provided on individual s. May fine the visual building data. Wiscous - See telephone report.
