Yes No Name of Established District Further Description of Important Features This large old building resembles an early industrial building in shape and plan. It also shows Federal influence in its thin pilasters and cornice and especially in its round attic windows. The north porches appear to be later additions as does the wing to the east. Shops are now in the lower level with apartment above. History and Significance Lyman Wright built this building in 1836. For many years this building was an undertaker's shop. Later it was the home and business place of a plumber, Mr. Cook whose wife was a dressmaker. This is an unusual and very early building that is quite well preserved. Description of Environment and Outbuildings This building is located on a small lot right on a major street corner. The land slopes toward the rear, partially covering the first floor.

Nomination, since virtually everything in the town is over 50 years old and there seem to be few intrusions. -- --between the text & survey sheets enough info seems to be provided on individual properties, many fine, the several buildings, etc.
