Statement of significance

(in one paragraph) This house was the home of Albert Munson, Medina County probate in Ohio. The house is virtually unaltered and one of the best After his education and a brief term as clerk in Sharon Center, he returned to the family farm. In 1854 Munson was active in the formation of the Republican Party in Medina County and established a lasting friendship with William McKinley. In 1869 he was elected to the Ohio State Legislature. In 1878 Munson became probate judge of Medina County and moved to this house, which had just been built in 1877. In 1884 Munson managed McKinley's campaign to return to Congress and placed his name in nomination at the state convention. as a possible future national candidate. business in Medina which stocked stoves, tinware, crockery, china, The Munson family was further noted locally for their spiritualism.
