The two- over-two sash are original rather than later replacements.
The plan is of the side-hall type, but the typical two square rooms off the stair hall have been eliminated in favor of one long parlor. The dining room and kitchen are in the ell. The land and house were-originally owned by Benjamin Hoyt. Cited in a 1964 Historic American . Buildings Survey, it is one of the only houses from this period to have survived totally intact in East Cambridge. Its original fence, storm doors, gable trim and brackets make it an unusually well preserved house. 10.
