Historical significance (include explanation of themes checked above) The Isaac McLean House is the best example of the domestic Colonial Revival style in Northwest Cambridge, and was designed in 1894 by the well-known architectural firm of Hartwell & Richardson. McLean, the owner, was also the builder. The hip roof caps a center-entrance facade. The entrance with its ellip- tical fanlight and sidelights is set within a full- width Ionic porch. The Palladian window motif of the front slope dormer is repeated on the carriage house located' at the rear of the main building. 10.
