Although the axial entrance and five-bay Ienestration follow Georgian precedentt to some extent, the Colonial Revival Style is expressed by the overhang and heavy scale of the second floor. In the garden stands an open octagonal gazebo with an octagonal roof with spring eaves surmounted by a pineapple _finial, a Colonial symbol of hospitality.. It was designed by the landscape architect. ( Charles Eliot and renewed in 1925 by his nelphew, Charles Eliot II. 10.
