Originally, a cupola rose from the elaborate wooden door. The front doorway opens into a spacious hallway with an open walnut stairway which woodwork, but has had new appliances, counters and shelves inserted. Statement of significance

(in one paragraph) John Garst was born in 1820 in Alsace, France. At the age of eleven his family Eventually, Garst was able to extend his farm to over six hundred acres and construct had deterorated considerably. It has since been restored. 1600-1699 1700-1799 1500-1599 communications industry humanitarian invention economics education conservation engineering theater prehistoric agriculture law 1900- 1400-1499 this elaborate Italianate residence. enterprises including a private banking business that concentrated in real estate.He stakingly restored to its original beauty.Of secondary importance is the historical few alterations have been made to the exterior and the interior has recently been pain century rural complex which has retained a remarkable degree of physical integrity.
