The Ijams-Wainwright Property or "The Old Tavern" as it is known locally, occupies a front rooms with a large cooking fireplace fireplace located in the rear of the L. original size but most of the sash have been changed to 2/2 lights. Sandstone staircase leads to the original 8 panel door which is surrounded by a fluted and measures 5 by 5 bays with a one story frame addition attached to the rear. The frame one story wing is constructed on a sandstone foundation and has a gable roof.
