The house, built in 1870-1872, displays the square massing, low pitched hip roof, paired brackets the Mead family, which played a large role in the business life of Feed Mill and Elevator. Historic Resources of Pataskala 245 S.Main Street is architecturally and historically significant in supporting wide eaves and tall windows characteristic of the Italianate style.The house was built for C.H. Elliot who operated the local Pataskala as the finest example of the Italianate style and for its hardware store. Later it was acquired by Carl L.
