History and Significance This is Mansfield's only full fledged example of Prairie Style finish of the walls with contrasting horizontal bands and low roof instead this house is probably a builder's version of this rare Mansfielders preferred more traditional styles for their houses and there was no broad acceptance of newforms, as occurred in years later, Art Moderne style houses were erected in the Acreage of Nominated Property: less than one 608 of the Krause House (428) was influenced by this building. to ornament the window openings. and badly proportioned, to "contemporary" design. That is, the elements are massive and give the appearance of being with wide projecting eaves all characterize this as a Prairie style in massive Mission-Style fashion or Early Arts and Crafts Design.
