A. Hall House is a good local example of Queen Anne style archit- ecture. The house has an asymmetrical plan, stands 2½ stories high and rests on a foundation of rock-faced granite. The building's principal features are its three-storey tower with a high hip roof, its decorative shingle work and its decorative sash in the tower and gables.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (explain the role owners played in local or state history and how the building relates to the development of the community) Significant primarily for its unaltered Queen Anne style design, the Hall House was owned and occupied in 1898 by S. Alonzo Hall, the editor of the Uxbridge Compendium. A slightly earlier construction date of ca. 1890 The S. A. Hall House possesses integrity of location, design, setting, materials, workmanship and feeling as well as historical associations with S. A. Hall, editor of the Uxbridge Compendium in the late nineteenth century. The house is among Uxbridge's best examples of Queen Anne style residential architecture.
