Comment) This marker was one of several which measured the course of the old coach road from Boston to Haverhill. Similar markers still stand in Wakefield on the east side of Lake Quannapowitt and in Greenwood. This marker had been removed when Haverhill Street was widened and replaced at citizens' request.
