Because of its associations with Noah King, a prominent medical doctor, and civic leader in Newton Centre, whose family continues to occupy the house, this dwelling meets Criteria B. ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE Describe important architectural features and evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community. It is 2 stories high, five bays wide. Together with the proportions, the remaining 18th century feature is the small second story windows with 6/6 sash. During the Greek Revival period the house had added: a wide frieze, cornerboards and a new wide door with panelled pilasters and side- lights. Noah King, a prominent medical doctor and civic leader in Newton centre, bought forty acres in Oak Hill with a dwelling and barn from Simeon Pond. The property was a working farm until the 1920s. The house which remains in the King family at the present time, represents the agricultural legacy of Oak Hill.
