orote on This Neighborhoood of Boyntonville had an interesting history belonging first to Charlestown, then Malden and finally to Wakefield as part of Greenwood. In the late 19th c. the area was re-christened Boyntonville after an important family of that name and twice petitioned Wakefield to withdraw and become part of Malden. Both petitions were rejected. South of Crystal Lake was generally farmland until mid-19th c. when the railroad passed through. The population grew then with permanent homes for commuters and around Crystal Lake with summer homes. This house is on land which was part of the Reuben Green farm whose Part or he Reub homestead is at the corner of Spring and Greenwood. Later the farm of Judge Nash it was next owned by the Boynton family.

In 1892 this house had already been built but lots around it along Greenwood were laid out for sale by Nutter and Boynton as section 2 of the Nash farm.
