ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE Describe important architectural features and evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community. Prospect Hill, one of the mest prosperous residential neighborhoods, evolved throughout the late-19th century. Prior to that it was an agricultural community of farms. Large tracts of land were purchased by real estate investors and well=to-do merchants in the mid 1800s. Pleasant, Grandview and Vinal Avenues were part of the 1870 subdivision plans of Ira Hill and others. Ira Hill, who lived at #91 Boston Street, was a prinicipal in most Prospect Hill subdivisions.

Many of the lots were subdivided a second time prior to development. Early residents were prosperous Boston and Union Square businessmen. Lot #27 of Hill's 1870 Plan subdivided by Robert Vinal and sold in to Silas and Emma Parker who owned and developed many other Prospect Hill properties. The Parkers built this well conserved dwelling and sold it to James and Sophia Burnett. Burnett was a machine blacksmith in Boston. BIBLIOGRAPHY and/or REFERENCES Hopkins, G.M.
