Both 76 and neighboring 80 Fairhaven were developed by Lars Petterson, a contractor who owned over a dozen houses in the Greendale and Lincoln Street areas in the early 20th century. Residents in 1920 included Cornelius Cashin, a foreman; Eugene Hansen, an emory worker at Norton; and Charles Johnson, a laborer. By 1930, the house was owned and occupied by Adolph Carlson, a drop forger. Tenants in 1930 in-luded Eugene Hansen, and Carl Johnson, a machinist.
