A thunderstorm strengthened to severe levels as it moved across southern sections of the county during the early to mid morning hours. Trees were downed in and around Grahamsville around 840 am EDT. Just after 915 am, additional trees and wires were toppled in Lumberland township.
A line of severe thunderstorms moved across Sullivan County during the afternoon. A 64 mph wind gust was recorded in Grahamsville at 4:45 pm and trees were knocked down in Liberty at 5:15 pm EDT.
A cluster of severe thunderstorms moving across the county blew down trees and wires in Grahamsville at 8:33 pm EDT where a 61 mph wind gust was recorded by a skywarn spotter. In Monticello at around 9:00 pm EDT additional large trees were toppled.
Large hail accumulated 1 inch deep 5 miles north of Grahamsville. Also trees and wires were down along with some structural damage from thunderstorm winds.
