July 2001Thunderstorm WindWater Mill-As the severe thunderstorm continued southeast across Southampton, it produced high winds that damaged trees along its path from Mill Pond to Water Mill to Sagaponack. In Mill Pond, several large trees were blown down along Head of the Pond Road, and both upper and lower Seven Ponds Road. In Sagaponack, tree damage occurred near Daniels and Gibson Lanes, before the storm moved over the Atlantic coastal waters.
