The Gardiner river gage located on left bank 400 feet upstream from bridge on Route 44, 500 feet downstream from Shawangunk Kill, and 0.7 miles northwest of Gardiner exceeded its 13 foot flood stage around 5:30 am EST September 8th, its 16 foot moderate flood stage around 10:30 am, it crested at 17.67 feet around 4 pm, and dropped below flood stage around 3:30 am September 9th.
