settlement's page as well.
Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The National Weather Service names
Mazie, the town this property stands in, in 39 storm reports between 1993 and 2025: 15 hail, 12 thunderstorm wind, 7 tornado, 4 flash flood.
No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office
filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date
opens the federal record of that event.
A F1 tornado touched down just northeast of Mazie and lasted until it lifted just east of Murphy. Much of the path contained of F0 damage consisting of roof damage to a home, a broken window in a home and damage to outbuildings. F1 damage occurred near the Neosho River where a mobile home was overturned and several large trees were snapped off.
This tornado apparently developed near the S425 Road, just north of the E650 Road where large tree limbs were snapped. The tornado moved northeast and damaged a barn on the W640 Road, and damaged or destroyed outbuildings on the W630 Road. Large tree limbs were snapped as the tornado continued to move northeast, apparently dissipating north of the W620 Road and east of the S429 Road. Based on this damage, maximum estimated wind in the tornado was 90 to 100 mph.
This F1 tornado originally formed in extreme southeast Rogers County and then moved east into extreme southwest Mayes County before lifting 2.5 miles southwest of Mazie. This tornado produced tree damage in a mostly rural area. While the tornado reached its widest point of 200 yards in Rogers County, the tornado was about 75 yards at its widest in Mayes County.
