April 2024Tornado (EF1)Aid$50,000An EF1 tornado began near Aid on Oak Ridge Road and traveled northeastward through mostly pastureland, knocking down a few trees on the north edge of the path and where it crossed Symmes Creek. The tornado continued northeast, blowing the roof off of two homes and another structure, as well as rolled a travel trailer near where it crossed State Route 141. The last noted damage was some tin panels that were blown upward on a barn roof shortly after the tornado crossed State Route 141. Some minor damage, not likely associated with the tornado occurred at the Symmes Valley High School.||An EMS employee stationed at the nearby Lawrence County EMS Station 5 witnessed the tornado as it traveled across the field in front of the station.

June 2015Flash FloodAid$20,000Small streams flooded roads. Flood waters surrounded at least one house. In their yard, the water level reached the top of a 3 foot above ground pool.
February 2022FloodAid$7,000Symmes Creek in the town of Aid rose above its 19 foot bankfull level on the morning of February 4th, cresting that evening around 21.5 feet. The creek did not return to its banks until the late evening hours two days later. While out of its banks, minor flooding was observed near residential homes in close proximity to the creek.
February 2023FloodAid$1,500Several roads were closed in the county due to flooding. These included State Route 141, State Route 775, County Road 37, and McKinney Creek Road.

The creek rose to 19.87 feet twenty-four hours later before returning to its banks during the early morning hours of February 18th. This prolonged period of time being out of its banks caused minor flooding issues along State Routes 217 and 378 in and around Aid.

February 2025FloodAid-Symmes Creek at Aid rose above a bankfull level of 19 feet on the afternoon of February 16th. After cresting that night, the creek briefly returned to bankfull before exceeding its banks again the next evening. A second, higher crest near 20.7 feet occurred the afternoon of the 18th, then the creek receded back into its banks the afternoon of the 19th.
April 2025FloodAid-In the town of Aid, a water rescue occurred after a person drove into flood waters on County Road 8.
April 2025FloodAid-Symmes Creek at Aid exceeded a bankfull level of 19 feet on the morning of April 4th. The creek rose to a crest around 21.4 feet the night of the 4th. A second, lower crest occurred the evening of the 6th, then the creek receded back into its banks the morning of the 8th. Low sections of Symmes Creek Road, Route 378, Route 217, and fields adjacent to the creek flooded in the midst of the swollen creek.
June 2025Flash FloodAid-High water was observed over State Route 141 near the 12.5 mile marker outside the town of Aid.
April 2024FloodAid-In the town of Aid, Symmes Creek rose above its bankfull level on the afternoon of April 3rd, then continued to rise to a crest of around 19.8 feet that night. The creek receded below bankfull again the next morning. Low lying sections of Ohio Route 378 and Ohio Route 217 flooded during the time the creek was out of its banks.
February 2018FloodAid-Symmes Creek briefly flooded early on the 26th. The river gage showed the creek rising above bankfull level of 19 feet at 1 AM, and cresting just over 19 feet just before 2 AM. The creek was back within its banks by 2:45 AM.
