June 2013	Thunderstorm Wind	Meeker	1 hurt, $35,000	Thunderstorm winds blew the roof off of a barn along State Route 309. The roof crashed into a nearby house slightly injuring a man inside.
June 2012	Thunderstorm Wind	Meeker	$4,000,000	An intense line of thunderstorms or Derecho moved across Marion County during the afternoon of June 29th causing extensive damage. Winds were estimated to be as much as 80 mph and a 62 mph gust was measured by an automated sensor on the north end of the county. Over 75 percent of residents lost power during this event. Power was not completely restored till July 5th. Hundreds, if not thousands of trees were downed across the county along with many utility poles forcing the closure of dozens of roads and streets. Damage to homes and buildings was also extensive. Hundreds of homes and buildings lost roofing or siding with many other homes damaged by fallen trees. At least one semi truck was overturned by the strong winds. Clean up costs were extensive. The clean up was hampered by an ongoing heat wave with afternoon temperatures in the upper 90s. Significant crop losses are also expected. Damage from this storm was comparable to the remnants of Hurricane Ike in September 2008.
February 2011	Flood	Meeker	$750,000	Heavy rain and rapid snow melt led to widespread flooding across Marion County. Rainfall totals across the county ranged from one to three inches on February 27th and 28th. Up to ten inches of heavy snow was on the ground at the onset of the rain. This snow rapidly melted as temperatures warmed into the 50s on the 28th. Up to an additional inch of water equivalent rainfall was released from the melted snow. Several people had be rescued from stranded vehicles. Hundreds of homes in the county sustained damage, mainly from basement flooding. Many roads had to be closed because of the flooding. Officially 2.78 inches of rain was measured at the Marion Airport.
May 2004	Flash Flood	Meeker	$50,000	Thunderstorms dumped up to three inches of rain on the northwestern portion of Marion County. The worst flooding occurred in the Meeker area after a couple small streams left their banks. Several roads had to be closed in this area.
May 2011	Flash Flood	Meeker	$25,000	Torrential rain fell over portions of Marion County as severe thunderstorms moved through the region. Rainfall rates over an inch per hour produced rapid runoff with rapid filling of small streams and creeks. This resulted in the flooding of local roadways. Rocky Fork, Prairie Run, and Grave Creek came over their banks, some by as much as 2.5 feet. The Marion County Engineers office says numerous county gravel roads were flooded and closed.

November 2017	Flood	Meeker	-	Moderate to heavy rain fell over Marion County in two waves on November 18th. The first round of rain was during the morning when about an inch and a half fell. By the afternoon another round of showers with another inch to inch and a half fell. Rainfall totals from the area were 3.12 inches in Prospect, 2.50 inches in La Rue, and 2.12 inches in Marion. Widespread overland flooding occurred with numerous road closures. The hardest hit area was in the southern part of the county according to the County Engineer. The runoff resulted in several days of minor flooding along the Scioto River in La Rue, Green Camp, and Prospect. \|Some of the roads closed included:\| Morral Kirkpatrick Road between Ohio 231 and Powell Road, just east of Morral\| Irvin Shoots Road between Hillman Ford Road and Ohio 423, north of Marion\| Linn Hipsher Road between Caledonia Northern and Lyons roads, just north of Caledonia\| Decliff Road between Ohio 95 and Agosta La Rue Road, just west of New Bloomington\| Hillman Ford Road between Pleasant Hill and Marion Williamsport roads and between Kenton Galion and Pleasant Hill roads, northwest of Marion\| Pleasant Hill Road between Hillman Ford and Holland roads, northwest of Marion\| Holland Road between Marion Williamsport Road and Ohio 309, just west of Marion.
