March 2026	Tornado (EF0)	Moreland	$45,000	A very brief EF0 tornado with estimated peak winds of 85-mph impacted the Apple Creek area. The tornado began just west of Honeytown Road, impacted three residential properties as it moved eastward, and then ended just east of the road. The tornado uprooted and snapped trees, and caused some large tree branches to be impaled into the ground. A carport awning was lofted across a home and knocked over a TV antenna, which caused the chimney to collapse onto the roof. Additional impacts included a blown-down fence, roof damage, and damage to an external propane tank at other residences.
July 2009	Tornado (EF1)	Moreland	$35,000	A tornado touched down in rural Wayne County about five miles south of downtown Wooster. The tornado was rated an EF1 and was on the ground for around a quarter mile. The damage path was less than 20 yards in width. The tornado touched down about a mile east of State Route 83 on the north side of East Messner Road and continued east for a couple hundred yards before lifting. A pole barn was damaged and portions of a fence knocked down by the tornado. Several trees were toppled along the damage path. Sheet metal from the barn was found as much as a mile and a half away.

June 2020	Flood	Moreland	-	Road closed at Rte 83 and Friendsville Rd. Flooding on roads, lots of washed out ditches. Minor flooding in Wooster. Radar estimated rainfall of 1.5 to 2.5 inches from Wadsworth to Wooster and south. Most of that rain fell between 9 and 10 PM.
