Storms nearby
1 since 2018The National Weather Service names Tully in 1 storm report between 2018 and 2018: 1 flood. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.
| When | Event | Place named | Harm | What the report says |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January 2018 | Flood | Tully | $100,000 | As reported by the Greenfield Recorder: a mass of ice broke free on the Millers River in Athol early the morning of the 13th. Additional ice broke free on the river near L. S. Starrett Company at 7 AM EST. The ice first struck the Exchange Street bridge, where hangers that secure a 10-inch water main to the bridge were swept downstream. The ice jam then migrated downstream to the South Main Street bridge, and finally downstream of this bridge to a sandbar one-half mile southwest. Flooding reached into the first floor level of homes on Canal Street. The Morton Meadows elderly housing complex was evacuated, as water came to within a few feet of the nearest building. By the end of January, this jam was flushed downstream to reform near the Orange-Athol town line, but the river was flowing through this new jam. |
