“Winthrop Parkway is a historic parkway in Revere, Massachusetts. The parkway, built between 1909 and 1919 and now designated as part of Route 145, runs for about 0.75 miles (1.21 km), from Eliot Circle southeast to the Revere-Winthrop line.”

The Post-Oflfice of Revere (North Chelsea) was established July 'I'i, 184(i, the first Postmaster being; Joseph H. Fenno, who served a community of about 750 persons. He was succeeded l:)y William Fenno, Hatch Crocker, George Newcomb, and James L. Wiggin, the latter being the last of the independent Postmasters at Revere. June 1, 1875, Revere became a Boston vStation, and free delivery was introduced in a Town that covered (August 1, 1892) about 3,540 acres, with a population of about 1,750 on July 1, 1875, and U,000 in 1892.
Winthrop, set off from North Chelsea (Revere) in 1853, was named after Deane Winthrop. The Post-Office was established February 2, 1853, and has had but one chief, Warren Belcher having been Postmaster up to May :]1, 1875, and head of the Station since. His allowance in 1855 was $17.17; the surplus, $5.84; the community served, less than 500. The Census of 1870 reports the population of Winthrop at 532. It is now about 3,500 (August 1, 18'.t2), and the area, 980 acres. Winthrop has had free delivery since June 1, 1875, when it became a jjart of postal Boston. It had been a part of municipal Boston up to 173!).

A roof was blown off a house on Winthrop Parkway in Revere. In addition, a tree, large limbs, and wires were downed by thunderstorm winds in Winthrop. The tree and branches were downed onto cars.
At 720 AM EST in Revere, a car was trapped in one foot of flooding on State Route 1A near the East Boston line. At 742 AM EST, amateur radio reported a flooded basement on Curtis Road. At 747 AM EST, three cars were reported trapped in flood waters on the Revere Beach Parkway.
In Revere, eighteen inches of water flooded Bell Circle. In Boston, the intersection of Columbia Road and Quincy Street flooded with one car stuck in the flood waters. Brookline Avenue was flooding near the Riverway. In West Roxbury, the VFW Parkway flooded near the high school.
