Roof damage was observed due to a fallen tree on Coover\|Road and a barn had part of the roof cave in on its east side.\|\|The tornado lifted until it crossed US-23 just west of Delaware\|Dam. A small cluster of trees were twisted on the west side of the\|highway.\|\|The next location is Delaware State Park where the tornado was on\|the ground for a few minutes. At Delaware State Park, a few\|partially rotten large limbs were downed and numerous 2 to 3 inch\|limbs were also downed. Also, several shallow rooted trees were\|uprooted. A medium-sized dumpster near the marina was tipped and\|moved about 20 feet. Three boats at the marina sustained minor\|awning damage. A few 2 to 3 inch tree limbs around the marina were\|snapped. Across the river from the marina, a snapped limb marked\|the end of the tornado track.

When this property was proposed for the National Register, someone wrote the case for it: what the building is, and why it matters. That document is a federal record in the public domain. It is quoted below word for word, never summarised. The text was read off the scanned case file by machine, so the occasional stray character is the recogniser's and the 1970s typewriter's.

Description of the property

Limestone Vale Farm is located along the Olentangy River, approximately1/2 mile southwest remain relatively unchanged today. south elevations. A 1-1/2 story stone and frame addition and porch are located to the rear. The simple, four panel door is flanked by pilasters and sidelights with a narrow transom above. Panels located below the sidelights are identical to those which line the recess. A deeply ridged measures approximately 100' x 50'. It was built with a great deal of care as evidenced by the cut elevations are covered with vertical wood siding. The firebay is flush with the stone ends of the barn and the gable roof is covered with tin. The barn is located to the southwest of the house.
Stone foundations have been located near the southeast corner of the barn and directly behind and to the south of the house.The buildings are located in close proximity to one another and are surrounded by fields, facing the river. Around the Stratford area, the remains of many stone CONDITION to the road. Chimneys, constructed of brick and stucco, are centrally located on the north and MOVED UNALTERED DETERIORATED Wooden cornices exist on the facade and rear elevation. They appear to have been denticular XALTERED The original portion of the house is t-shape in plan, constructed entirely of coursed rubble XEXCELLENT Large cut stones form the lintels above the openings and the quoins at the corners of the building. buildings including mills, farmhouses, and a church can be found today.
wide, fluted architrave frames the recess. It possesses seven corner blocks rather than the usual originally. The north and south elevations are identical. Two small, two over two windows are limestone and rises two stories in height. The ridgepole of the tin covered gable roof is parallel located under the gables.

Statement of significance

The house and barn at Limestone Vale are excellent, well preserved examples of rural domestic architecture in the Delaware area.The barn is one of four surviving examples of stone-end Daniel Stout, builder of Limestone Vale, was born in Berks County, Pennsylvania of German similar to those he left behind in southeastern Pennsylvania. The Stout family lived and farmed at Limestone Vale until 1972. It is currently undergoing careful restoration by the present owners. 1500-1599 1400-1499 1700-1799 LAW ECONOMICS ART INVENTION CONSERVATION INDUSTRY SIGNIFICANCE PERIOD ARCHEOLOGY-HISTORIC BUILDER/ARCHITECT from a sensitivity to architectural details.
The quoins on both buildings, the handsome recessed AGRICULTURE RELIGION TRANSPORTATION MILITARY PREHISTORIC entrance and the original denticular cornice are indicative of this sensitivity. _PHILOSOPHY _POLITICS/GOVERNMENT XARCHITECTURE _COMMUNICATIONS _EXPLORATION/SETTLEMENT The house and barn are by no means pretentious, however, both exhibit characteristics resulting ancestry.
