The Felkner-Anderson House is eligible under Criterion C as a fine example of An I-house can be defined as being two stories tall, one room deep, and at least two rooms wide with three, four, or five bays across the front and a wood, brick or stone, and the earliest examples often featured Flemish bond forms DEL-96-2, DEL-16-7, DEL-27-7, DEL-12-12, DEL-21-17). Only one other stone, built in 1850 and located at 2360 Panhandle Road (NR:2/13/86).
A reconnaissance survey of Scioto Township conducted by the regional preservation office revealed that the Felkner-Anderson House is the only House is a good example of the I-house form in Delaware County, showing the The house was built c. 1858 for William Felkner. It replaced a log house constructed in the 1830s by his father Jacob who was originally from At this time, the present front porch, plumbing, and electricity were Architecture Unknown Architect/Builder rear ell, a three bay facade, 6/6 windows, two brick interior end chimneys, variety of interpretation and treatment of the house type.
Period of Significance vernacular rural architecture.It is characterized by its I-house plan common in Delaware County.This observation is strengthened by an examination Cultural Affiliation C.G.Anderson upon his return from the military service in the World War I. from c.1812 to 1850 with the majority of the houses being built in the 1850s. C.1858 Criteria Considerations (Exceptions) brickwork. Three bay facades, such as the Felkner-Anderson House, are not as by his daughter, Jessie Anderson. In 1920, the house was given to her son, of C.G.
