Fires near this property
5 since 1999
Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The
federal wildfire occurrence database
lists 5 fires within 5 miles of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Badus
between 1999 and 2009, burning about 10 acres in total. 1 started naturally. None was recorded as arson.
Distance is straight-line from the map coordinates, so a fire counted

Regional context, not property-specific
evidence. The National Weather Service names
Ramona, the town this property stands in, in 30 storm reports between 1998 and 2024: 17 hail, 9 thunderstorm wind, 3 flood, 1 tornado.
No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office
filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date
opens the federal record of that event.
Flooding of lakes and lowlands, including Lake Madison and farmland, continued in the county through April. While flooding of small streams abated, lake and lowland flooding continued with very slow improvement. Many roads remained flooded, with additional damage. High water and groundwater levels resulting from record precipitation in the previous year was the main reason that the flooding either grew worse or improved so slowly.
Persistent moderate to heavy rain caused flooding of fields and other lowlands, including several roads, homes, and businesses. This flooding lasted for almost two days, and was aggravated locally by additional storms during that time. Some roads were damaged or washed out.
Melting of a heavy winter snow cover caused flooding of lowlands, lakes, and small streams, including considerable flooding of farmland and campgrounds. The flooded lakes included Lake Madison. Numerous roads in the county were flooded. Some of the roads were closed, and some were washed out in spots. Some small bridges were damaged. The flooding onset was rapid for a snow melt flood due to high water and groundwater levels from record precipitation in the year 2010.
Thunderstorm winds caused tree and power line damage, including numerous trees and power poles blown down. The damage resulted in power outages in the area. The wind also damaged corn crops. The amount of property and crop damage was not known.
Large hail caused crop damage. The amount of damage was not known, as it was expected that much of the damaged corn would recover. Most of the crop damage was observed in the Nunda area.
