Population over time

3 figures

Lufkin grew from 32,709 to 34,143 between 2000 and 2020. These are the recorded population figures Wikidata holds for this place, reached through the Geographic Names Information System number this page is keyed on rather than by name, so they belong to this place and not to another of the same name. Most are census counts, but not all are: an early figure may be a founding or settlement estimate, and an estimate published within five years of a census is left out. The change column is computed, and is left blank where more than 20 years separate a figure from the one before it, because a gap that long is not a change between two counts.

As the wind pushed across South 4th Street, small and large branches were broken off of hardwood trees. A billboard on East Lufkin Ave. was destroyed and a few branches on trees were broken along K. Morgan Ave. ||Surveillance footage and emergency officials observed a narrow circulation at the ground which was determined to be a turbulent eddy that developed as the damaging winds came to the surface. In addition, there was no evident funnel cloud from the footage shared that would indicate the circulation was vertically attached to rotation from the parent storm.
