Two downed power poles along with uprooted and snapped trees were the most noticeable damage. Some tree debris was deposited 100-200 yards NE of the original location.

May 2014HailGoodnight-A discrete thunderstorm developed over Armstrong County during the early evening hours of the 21st. This storm quick intensified as it moved to the northeast across the county. A storm chaser 5 miles west-northwest of the town of Goodnight reported this storm produced ping pong ball (1.50 inches) size hail. After producing this hail, the storm continued to move northeastward and began to diminish.
August 2014Thunderstorm WindGoodnight-A cluster of thunderstorms developed over Armstrong County during the early afternoon hours of the 24th. After developing, they quickly began to collapse, and produced an estimated 60 mph thunderstorm downburst. The Armstrong County Sherriff's Office reported the downburst turned over two semi tractor trailers in the town of Goodnight (Armstrong County). No injuries were reported with this damage.
June 2014Thunderstorm WindGoodnight-A cluster of discrete thunderstorms moving across the Texas Panhandle transitioned into a broken linear structure during the late evening hours of the 6th. As this broken line of storms where near the town of Goodnight (Armstrong County), the KVII Schoolnet site 15 miles south of Goodnight (Armstrong County) reported a 67 mph downburst gust. After producing this gust the line of thunderstorms continued moving eastward across the Panhandle.
June 2013HailGoodnight-Discrete thunderstorms developed over the southern Texas Panhandle during the evening hours of the 16th. One of these thunderstorms developed over northern Carson County and moved to the south-southeast across the county. An Armstrong County Sheriff's Deputy near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road and Farm-to-Market Road 294 (Armstrong County) reported baseball size hail (2.75 inches) as the thunderstorm moved overhead. The thunderstorm continued to move to the south-southeast across the county after producing this hail.

One of these thunderstorms developed over northern Carson County and moved to the south-southeast into Armstrong County. A storm chaser in Goodnight (Armstrong County) reported ping pong ball size hail (1.50 inches) as the thunderstorm moved overhead. The thunderstorm continued to move to the south-southeast across the county after producing this hail.
May 2013HailGoodnight-A thunderstorm with a history of producing pea to quarter size hail in Goodnight (Armstrong County) moved to the northeast. The Armstrong County Commissioner and Chief Deputy reported seeing hail shafts out of the base of this thunderstorm. As the storm passed over their location, 2 miles north of Goodnight, they observed nickel size hail. The Armstrong County Emergency Manager relayed this report to the National Weather Service Office in Amarillo (Potter County).
June 2013Thunderstorm WindGoodnight-A discrete thunderstorm developed across the southwestern Texas Panhandle during the early morning hours of the 4th. This storm moved to the east across the southern Texas Panhandle. As the storm reached Armstrong County, the thunderstorm encountered an outflow from a line of thunderstorms across the northeastern Texas Panhandle. This caused the thunderstorm to briefly strengthen and produced a 63 mph downburst which was measured by the KVII schoolnet site 15 miles south of Goodnight (Armstrong County). After producing this gust the thunderstorm weakened and moved to the south. This further southern position placed it south of the Texas Panhandle.
June 2013Thunderstorm WindGoodnight-A line of thunderstorms developed over the southern Texas Panhandle during the late night hours of the 16th. This line quickly showed indications that damaging winds would be the primary hazard. As the line moved across Armstrong County, the KVII Schoolnet site at Palo Duro (Armstrong County) measured a 60 mph downdraft gust. The line continued to move to the southeast after producing this gust, but weakened to the point of not producing any further damaging wind gusts.
August 2013Thunderstorm WindGoodnight-A line of thunderstorms moved across Armstrong County during the evening hours of the 8th. As the southern portion of this line neared Goodnight (Armstrong County), the line took on a bowed appearance and a rear-inflow notch was evident on radar. A KVII Schoolnet site 15 miles south of Goodwell (Armstrong County) at JA Ranch reported a 62 mph thunderstorm gust as the bowed line moved overhead. The bowed line weakened after producing this gust and moved into the southeastern Texas Panhandle.
May 2013HailGoodnight-A thunderstorm developed over Armstrong County during the early afternoon hours of the 29th. A trained storm spotter a half mile east of Goodnight (Armstrong County) observed this thunderstorm produce several pea size hail stones with a few quarter size hail stones as it moved to the northeast.
April 2010Tornado (EF0)Goodnight-The tornado touched down five miles northeast of Goodnight in Armstrong County at 1559 CST and lifted at 1602 CST approximately seven miles northeast of Goodnight. The tornado was on the ground for one to two miles with a maximum path width of fifty yards. No damage or injuries were reported.
