May 2003Tornado (F2)Mineola5 hurt, $330,000A strong cyclic supercell tornado developed over Mineola, Texas while a strong tornado developed shortly there after and moved to the east northeast. Numerous Pine, Oak, and other species of trees were either snapped or pushed over along the entire tornado track. Power lines were taken down across many locations along the track as well. The tornado moved over a small community of Pine Mills and destroyed 1 old frame home and 2 old mobile homes while damaging 9 others. Four injuries occurred including 1 broken leg. This tornado moved into Upshur, Harrison, and Marion Counties of northeast Texas.
February 2009Tornado (EF1)Mineola$250,000In Wood County, a volunteer fire station roof collapsed, and a manufactured home roof was peeled back on one side. Several other homes nearby north of Hwy. 80 east of Mineola were damaged from falling trees and wind between Hwy. 80 and Farm to Market 1801.

April 2017Tornado (EF1)Mineola$30,000An EF-1 tornado with maximum estimated winds between 100-110 mph touched down east of Highway 69 just east of Mineola along County Road 2700, where several trees were snapped and uprooted along its path. One large oak tree fell onto a home along County Road 2740, before the tornado lifted before crossing Highway 80.

September 2007Tornado (EF1)Mineola$5,000The tornado touched down east northeast of Mineola, Texas. Damage consisted of a few trees snapped at mid trunk and large branches broken off other trees. A mobile home was shifted off its foundation a few feet but not rolled. The mobile home was anchored down. The porch associated with the mobile home was removed as well. A portion of a roof attached to an outbuilding was also removed. The tornado was rated and EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita scale with a path length of nearly one mile and a path width of 50 yards. DOD-2.

May 2019FloodMineola-Moderate flooding developed along the Sabine River south of Mineola as a result of persistent heavy rains that fell across the Sabine basin throughout much of April and May. Widespread rainfall amounts of five to ten inches fell across the basin during April, with additional widespread amounts in excess of ten inches falling during May. As a result, the Sabine River south of Mineola rose above the 18 ft moderate flood stage at 4 pm on May 8th, before cresting at 19.53 ft at 7 pm on the 10th. The Sabine River fell back below the moderate flood stage at 9 am on May 15th. Farther downstream on the Sabine River just south of Hawkins, the river rose above the 32 ft moderate flood stage at 9 pm on May 10th, and crested at 34.2 feet at 12 pm on May 12th. The Sabine River fell back below the 32 ft moderate flood stage at 11 pm on May 15th. This flooding inundated some barns and secondary roads including FM 1804 in Southern Wood and Northern Smith Counties through mid-May before receding.
