The tornado continued for another thirteen and a half miles before dissipating on mile south of U.S. Highway 87 or seven miles east southeast of Hartley. In Hartley county...numerous power poles...fences...and a few highway signs sustained damage. While in Oldham county...the tornado was rated as EF0 but in Hartley county it was rated as EF1. There were no fatalities and no injuries reported.

August 2014Thunderstorm WindChanning-Scattered thunderstorms developed across Hartley County during the afternoon hours of the 22nd. As a storm approached the town of Channing (Hartley County), a trained storm spotter reported an estimated 70 mph thunderstorm downburst which turned over a center pivot irrigation system 5 miles northwest of Channing (Hartley County). After producing this downburst, no further severe weather was reported.
June 2014Tornado (EF0)Channing-A discrete supercell developed during the evening hours of the 6th. As the storm intensified it produced a brief tornado over the rural portions of Hartley County. Due to the location of the tornado, minimal damage was located however multiple eye witnesses reported the tornado. The winds were estimated at 65 mph. After producing this brief tornado, the supercell began to diminish as it merged with a broken line of thunderstorms.

There were multiple reports from trained spotters...the broadcast media...and an off-duty National Weather Service employee of the tornado touching the ground. The tornado remained over open country and ended at 1435 CST roughly four to five miles north of Channing. No structural damage or injuries were reported. The tornado path length and path width were estimated. There were reports that four inch diameter tree branches were snapped off by the tornado.
May 2008Tornado (EF0)Channing-This tornado formed six miles northeast of Channing in Hartley County and tracked east northeast for about five miles before exiting Hartley County about ten and a half miles east northeast of Channing at 1444 CST. The tornado continued in western Moore County for about another two miles...before dissipating at 1449 CST. The tornado remained over open country and no damage or injuries were reported. The tornado path length and path width were estimated.
