It entered town, where it caused significant damage|to a mobile home community. Dozens of mobile homes were|completely destroyed. It continued into downtown and caused|structural damage to several downtown shops, some with collapsed|walls. A microwave tower was also folded in half. The tornado|intensified and caused low end EF3 damage to a few retail stores|in downtown and along Ash Street, some of which were completely destroyed. |As the tornado continued to the southeast across Birch and Cedar |Streets, it damaged numerous mobile homes and single family structures, |continuing as an EF2 in this area. A cell phone tower was also brought |down, which resulted in telecommunication outages. The tornado affected an|industrial park area where it tossed several empty fuel tanks|across Texas 143 Loop and into a field. It also pushed a full tanker|truck into a pond along Loop 143. The tornado then crossed a|field, before damaging a grain bin and downing about ten power|poles along Highway 377. It crossed Highway 377 and lifted in an|open field before it reached County Road 20.

August 2024Thunderstorm WindPerryton$75,000Widespread wind damage occurred across the city of Perryton. There were a number of uprooted or snapped healthy trees. Several aluminum carports were damaged and moved that resulted in minor damage to the cars parked underneath. Some buildings had aluminum siding ripped off. Trees were blown onto powerlines and other damage may have occurred to power poles.
March 2024Tornado (EF1)Perryton$58,000The tornado developed in a field to the south of County Road M. It then crossed County Road M, where it snapped three power poles and overturned a portion of an irrigation pivot. The tornado then crossed Highway 83 where it caused loss of roofing material to a roundtop quonset. As the tornado continued to track to the northeast, it threw mud on several power poles and deposited debris along County Road L. The tornado tracked northeast before dissipating in a field. Video footage exists that confirms this tornado was rather wide and possibly had multiple vortices. The estimated wind speed of this tornado was 105mph.

Also...one of the County Commissioners had the windows of his vehicle completely blown out which was parked two and a half blocks northwest of the Activity Center. The time of the wind damage was estimated...but reportedly occurred just before 1600 CST. No injuries were reported.

After producing this downburst, the storms diminished over Ochiltree County.
May 2014HailPerryton-A discrete supercell developed over the northeastern Texas Panhandle during the afternoon hours of the 11th. This storm strengthened as it moved northeastward along a dryline. As the storm moved over the town of Perryton (Ochiltree County), a member of the public reported penny size hail (0.75 inch). This storm continued to move to the northeast after producing this hail.
June 2013HailPerryton-A discrete supercell thunderstorm developed over the northeastern New Mexico Plains and moved across the southern portions of the Oklahoma Panhandle counties. As this thunderstorm neared Perrytown (Ochiltree County), the thunderstorm drifted into the northern Texas Panhandle. The Perryton Police Department reported penny size hail (0.75 inch) in the town of Perryton (Ochiltree County). After producing this hail the supercell continued moving to the east across the northern portions of the northern Texas Panhandle counties.
