8,923 words on this townshipHistory of Buffalo County, Wisconsin, published 1888 names this settlement in its chapter on Buffalo Town. These are the passages that mention it, exactly as the scans read.
The population of the town is mostly German, but there are some Scotch, Irish and Polish' families and one American family. The southern part of the town is opposite the city of Winona, and much of the trade of the town is done in that place, a well built road leading across the bottoms. There is within the limits of this town a village plat near the railroad station of Bluff Siding, called Town of Colbert, which is recorded in Vol. 17, page 216, with which I am not further acquainted.
