Regional context, not property-specific evidence. The National Weather Service names Kane in 2 storm reports between 2011 and 2022: 1 flood, 1 thunderstorm wind. No death or injury is recorded in these reports. Each account below is quoted exactly as the forecast office filed it, from the NOAA Storm Events Database, and each date opens the federal record of that event.

WhenEvent Place namedHarm What the report says
July 2011FloodKane$351,500Excessive snowmelt runoff caused flooding at Big Horn Lake. The lake elevation hovered about 15 feet above full pool at 3,655 feet. High water neared the level of the US Highway 14A causeway across the southern end of the lake. Wind gusts to 45 mph caused waves that eroded some of the embankment along the causeway and deposited debris onto the highway. On Friday night, July 22, the waves deposited enough debris to necessitate snowplows to come and clear the highway. County Road 20 along the west shore of the lake was inundated and sustained significant damage as a result of the prolonged period of high water.
July 2022Thunderstorm WindKane-The Willow Creek RAWS weather sensor recorded a maximum wind gust of 64 mph.
