The history of Worcester County was published in the same year as the first of these atlases, and it names this establishment.

Dr. George W. Pierce was born at West Boylston, Mass , Oct. 15th, 1 8 16. He was educated at Leicester Academy and graduated at Harvard Medical School, in the class of '45. P^or a short time he practised his profession in Bolton, but came to Leominster in 1847, where he resided until his death in May, 1886. He was twice married. In 185 1, to a Miss Damaris Balch, of a family widely connected in Leominster ; and in 1869, to Mrs. Charlotte H. Carter of Lowell, Mass. P^our children by the first marriage, and one by the last, survive him.
