Springs ; after recovering, lie returned to his command, and was honorably discharged at the close of the war. His brother, T. E. Quaintance, was torn to pieces b}' a cannon ball at his side, while he was miraculously saved. He and his estimable wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, and respected by all.
